Tribhuvan International Airport shut until further notice

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has been closed until further notice due to the ongoing unrest, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

The airport authority said the decision was taken in view of the volatile security situation. In a public notice, the office clarified that flights would remain suspended until further notice.

Earlier, TIA had announced a temporary closure until 6 pm today, but operations have now been halted without a reopening timeline.

The shutdown has affected both domestic and international flights, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. Airlines have advised travelers to stay in contact with their respective carriers for updates.

Authorities said the airport will resume operations only after security agencies give clearance.
