KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army has recovered 31 firearms and associated ammunition looted by unruly groups during Tuesday’s protests, according to an official update.
The Army said that 23 Nepal Police personnel and three civilians injured in attacks during the demonstrations received treatment at military hospitals.
Authorities also noted that the destructive elements, who infiltrated the Gen Z movement, had used three fire-extinguishing devices to control fires caused in public and private structures during the unrest.
Across Kathmandu and other parts of the country, 27 individuals involved in looting, arson, and violent attacks targeting lives and property have been arrested.
In addition, the Army reported the recovery of Rs 3.37 million from individuals engaged in looting in the Gaushala-Chabahil-Boudha area of Kathmandu.
The Army reiterated that it is taking strict measures to prevent further destruction and maintain law and order.
