NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the recent violence in Nepal as heart-wrenching and called on all sides to maintain peace and order.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Modi said he was deeply disturbed by the situation in Nepal, where a wave of protests has led to widespread unrest and the loss of lives, particularly among young people.
“The violence in Nepal is heart-wrenching. I am deeply disturbed by the loss of so many young lives. Nepal’s stability, peace, and prosperity are of utmost importance,” Modi wrote.
The Indian leader also revealed that Nepal’s unfolding crisis was discussed in detail during Tuesday’s meeting of the Union Cabinet in New Delhi.
“I earnestly appeal to all my brothers and sisters in Nepal to uphold peace and order,” Modi added.
