Nepal Police appeals for public cooperation to restore peace



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police has issued a public appeal, calling on all Nepalis to support efforts to restore peace, uphold the rule of law, and safeguard the welfare of the nation.

In a press statement, the police expressed sorrow over the tragic incidents that occurred during the peaceful protest organized by the Gen Z movement on Monday.

“In this moment of national grief, all members of the police force and citizens alike must remain committed to the nation’s security, the rule of law, and crime prevention,” the statement read.

The statement, issued by the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police, acknowledged the irreparable loss suffered during the demonstrations and emphasized the police’s commitment to working with the public in a spirit of peaceful cooperation to prevent further deterioration of the situation.

The Nepal Police stressed that the restoration of peace and order is crucial for the rescue and treatment of the injured, as well as for preventing additional loss of life and property. It urged all citizens to extend their full cooperation during this challenging time.
