Wife killed, husband injured in Scorpio accident in Ramechhap



RAMECHHAP: A woman died and her husband was injured in a road accident in Ramechhap this morning. A Scorpio pickup jeep (Ba 13 Cha 3935) traveling from Manthali towards Hetauda met with an accident at Bokse Pahiro in Manthali Municipality-6.

According to police, 40-year-old Radha Karki Chauhan died on the spot, while her 45-year-old husband, Uttam Chauhan, who was driving the vehicle, sustained injuries.

Police Inspector Kaushal Neupane of the District Police Office said the injured was taken to Kathmandu for further treatment after receiving primary care at Manthali Community Hospital.

Inspector Neupane added that the vehicle plunged about 100 meters off the road and landed on the bank of the Tamakoshi River.

Radha, who headed the Urban Health Centre in Manthali-7, and Uttam, who works at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Manthali branch, were reportedly traveling to Hetauda to meet their son.
