Bank provides support to storm-damaged school

TANAHU: Nepal Investment Mega Bank has extended support to a local school in Tanahu after its building was damaged by a storm.

The roof of the 12-room Min Secondary School in Tharpu, Myagde Rural Municipality-4, was blown off by strong winds in the month of Jestha, disrupting teaching and learning.

Responding under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the bank funded the installation of a new tin roof at a cost of Rs 100,000.

According to school principal Rajendra Bhandari, the new roof was constructed using trusses. He noted that the building previously had a stone roof, which posed a safety risk and was therefore replaced with tin for greater durability and safety.
