Extreme heat prompts two-day school holiday in Belauri

KANCHANPUR: Belauri Municipality has announced a two-day school holiday due to extreme heat. Citing health concerns for teachers, students, and staff, the municipality has decided to close all schools within its jurisdiction today and tomorrow.

Mayor Potilal Chaudhary stated that the decision was made at the mayoral level. The holiday applies to both community and institutional schools and coincides with the beginning of the monsoon season.

As temperatures rise, residents have been avoiding outdoor activities. Foot traffic in marketplaces and along highways has noticeably declined during the afternoon.

Health workers report a spike in patients suffering from heat-related illnesses such as chills, headaches, fever, and burning eyes.
