Today’s foreign currency exchange rates

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has set the official foreign exchange rates for Tuesday.

According to the central bank, the value of some currencies—including the US dollar and Bahraini dinar—has declined, while most others such as the Australian dollar, euro, pound sterling, and Kuwaiti dinar have risen after having dropped the previous day.

As per today’s rates, the buying rate for one US dollar is NPR 136.70 and the selling rate is NPR 137.30. Compared to Monday’s rate of NPR 136.71 (buying) and NPR 137.31 (selling), the dollar has slipped slightly.

The euro is trading today at NPR 156.06 (buying) and NPR 156.74 (selling), up from yesterday’s NPR 155.78 and NPR 156.46, respectively. Similarly, the pound has appreciated to NPR 185.34 (buying) and NPR 186.16 (selling), from Monday’s NPR 184.90 and NPR 185.71.

The Australian dollar has also strengthened, with today’s buying rate at NPR 89.18 and selling rate at NPR 89.57, compared to yesterday’s NPR 88.76 and NPR 89.15.

Likewise, the Kuwaiti dinar now stands at NPR 446.05 (buying) and NPR 448.01 (selling), up from NPR 445.45 and NPR 447.41.

In contrast, the Bahraini dinar has seen a slight decline, trading at NPR 362.55 (buying) and NPR 364.14 (selling), compared to Monday’s NPR 362.63 and NPR 364.22.

NRB has noted that these exchange rates are subject to change as needed, and commercial banks may offer slightly different rates. The latest updates are available on the central bank’s official website.
