Maoist Centre committed to uplifting the poor: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Maoist Centre Chairperson and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party is actively reaching out to the grassroots with the objective of improving the living standards of poor and marginalized communities.

Addressing a mass gathering organized by the Maoist Centre’s Panchthar District Coordination Committee in Phidim on Friday, Prachanda said the party’s recent Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign had transformed into a people’s movement. He emphasized that such outreach efforts are helping the party better understand public concerns and aspirations.

On the occasion, Prachanda highlighted the Maoist-led government’s role in initiating major infrastructure projects vital to national connectivity, including the Mid-Hill Highway, Postal Highway, and various north-south corridors across the country.

According to his personal secretariat, Prachanda also recalled the initiatives taken during his third term as Prime Minister, particularly in the areas of social justice, good governance, and economic reform.
