Pakistan military says it is retaliating after alleged Indian airbase strikes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military has stated it is carrying out retaliatory actions after accusing India of launching missile strikes on three of its airbases, according to BBC.

The claims were made in the early hours of Saturday, but India has yet to issue any official response.

One of the airbases reportedly targeted, Nur Khan, is located in Rawalpindi, just 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the capital, Islamabad.

Earlier this week, India carried out strikes on targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir in response to last month’s deadly militant attack on Indian tourists in Pahalgam. Islamabad has denied any involvement in the incident.

Since the beginning of India’s military operation, both sides have traded accusations of cross-border shelling, missile launches, and drone attacks.

The region of Indian-administered Kashmir has long been the site of a violent insurgency that has claimed thousands of lives. Both India and Pakistan continue to claim the territory in full.
