Arabian Sea moisture and westerly winds expected to trigger rain

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has indicated that Nepal remains under the influence of westerly and local winds, with additional moisture entering from the Arabian Sea.

This weather system is expected to cause partly to mostly cloudy conditions in hilly areas, particularly across Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces on Saturday afternoon, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

The Division predicts light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in several hilly locations of these provinces, along with a chance of similar conditions in a few other hilly regions.

Light snowfall or rain may occur in one or two mountainous locations.

Meanwhile, windstorms are possible in parts of Madhes and Lumbini provinces.

The forecast also suggests a continued chance of light to moderate rain with thunder in some hilly areas, and light rain or snow in mountainous regions tonight.
