KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and leader of the main opposition, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ is set to address the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The decision was made during a discussion among the Speaker, chief whips, and whips on Monday. Prachanda, who had been engaged in the party’s Terai-Madhes Awakening Campaign, has returned to Kathmandu for the address.
His speech comes at a time when political circles have been stirred by the recent activities surrounding former King Gyanendra Shah’s return to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
Various political parties, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), have been actively engaged in discussions regarding the monarchy, adding significance to Prachanda’s upcoming remarks in Parliament.
