Two arrested on charges of gang-rape in Kailali



KATHMANDU: A 13-year-old girl has been gang-raped in Jhagadpur, Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-2, Kailali.

Police suspect that the girl, a grade 4 student, may have been gang-raped on the evening of February 8 by offering her meat.

Two people have been arrested on rape charges, according to DSP Kabindra Singh Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kailali.

Those arrested are Gopal BK, 44, of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality-3, and a 16-year-old teenager.

The survivor’s sister informed the police about the incident on Sunday evening.

A team deployed from the Area Police Office, Baunia, immediately arrested both of them. They are currently in police custody and further investigation into the incident is underway, according to the police.
