Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup: Tribhuvan Army and Church Boys set for opening match



KATHMANDU: Defending champions Tribhuvan Army Football Club is playing against Church Boys United in the opening match of the 24th edition of the Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup football tournament in Pokhara today.

The game is set to begin at 2:30 pm at Pokhara Stadium.

Tribhuvan Army will be aiming to retain their title by defeating Church Boys.

On the other hand, Church Boys made it to the quarterfinals after a dramatic sudden death victory over NRT in the pre-quarterfinals.

The winner of this match will advance to the semifinals, where they will meet Nepal Police Club, who secured their spot after a win over Brigade Boys Club UK in the quarterfinals.

The tournament, featuring 12 teams including 3 foreign clubs, offers a grand prize of Rs. 1.2 million for the winner and Rs. 600,000 for the runner-up.
