Westerly winds impacting weather across Nepal

KATHMANDU: The country is currently under the general influence of westerly winds.

As of Monday morning, the weather in the hilly regions is partly cloudy, while the rest of the country is mostly clear.

A few areas in the Terai are experiencing light mist and fog, according to a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The Division has forecasted light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Kosi Province today.

Additionally, light snowfall is possible in one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country.

The Division has issued warnings and advisories for the next 24 hours, stating: “There is a possibility of light rain in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, and light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas. There is also a chance of mist and fog in the Terai during the morning.”

Since these conditions may impact daily life, health, and road and air transport, we urge the public to take necessary precautions, it said.
