Health Ministry moves to Singha Durbar, operations begin

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has commenced its services from Singha Durbar. The Ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, announced that services have partially begun at Singha Durbar from today.

He stated that services from the Minister, two Secretaries, the Policy, Planning and Monitoring Division, and the Staff Division are now operational at Singha Durbar.

The World Health Organization has established six ‘prefab blocks’ for the ministry on the vacant land of the Nepal Army Nursing Corps situated at Singha Durbar. “It will take another month to relocate all branches of the ministry,” he said.

Following the arson incident at the ministry building on September 9 due to the Gen-Z protest, the ministry had been temporarily offering services from the office of the Nepal Health Research Council.
