Government decides to dissolve Land Problems Settlement Commission and all district committees



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to dissolve the Land Problems Settlement Commission along with all its district committees.

Government spokesperson Jagdish Kharel stated that the cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday decided to dissolve the commission, which was formed under the Land Problems Settlement Commission Formation Order 2081 BS, and all associated district committees.

The cabinet also decided to forward the report of the investigation committee, which was formed to address issues related to transit and visit visas, to the Ministry of Home Affairs for implementation. Additionally, Ilam district has been declared a disaster-prone district for three months.

The meeting approved the promotion of DIGs Sushil Singh Rathore, Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha, and Dambar Bahadur B.K to AIG.

Furthermore, the cabinet decided to forward the Tribhuvan University Land and Immovable Property Investigation Committee report to the Ministry of Education for implementation. The report submitted by the High-Level Study and Recommendation Committee for the improvement of the civil aviation sector was forwarded to the Ministry of Tourism for action in 2082 BS.

Finally, the cabinet approved the phased release of Rs 20 billion from the Energy Fund to manage resources for the construction of hydropower projects under the Nepal Electricity Authority.
