NEPSE ends week with modest gain

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw only a modest gain on Thursday, despite opening with a positive circuit in the first three minutes of trading. The market ended the day up 22.59 points at 2,582.18, after total transactions worth Rs 5.27 billion.

On Thursday, among the stocks traded, 200 companies recorded price increases, while 41 saw declines, and 10 remained unchanged. Bindabasini Hydropower investors gained the most from sales, whereas Three Star Hydropower sellers faced the largest losses.

Sector-wise, all sub-indices except the trade group ended positively. Despite early optimism, analysts say the lingering political tension in the country continues to weigh on market performance, reflecting investor caution in the face of potential instability.
