Monsoon weakens, fair weather expected today



KATHMANDU: The monsoon is gradually weakening, and the weather across most parts of the country is expected to remain mainly fair today.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, skies will be partly cloudy in the hilly regions, with a chance of light rain at one or two locations within those areas.

Meteorological analysis indicates that westerly winds are currently influencing several parts of the western regions, particularly in Lumbini, Sudurpaschim, and Karnali Provinces, as well as some areas in western Gandaki Province. Meanwhile, the effects of monsoon and local winds are significantly weakening.

For tonight, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy in Koshi Province, while it will be mainly fair across the rest of the country. There remains a slight chance of light rain in one or two hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
