Nepal Army chief Ashok Raj Sigdel addresses nation amid protests



KATHMANDU: Nepal Army Chief, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, has issued a video address to update the public on recent events following the Gen-Z protests.

In his address, Sigdel appealed to citizens to maintain peace and security. The army has also expressed regret over damage to public property during the demonstrations.

A statement released by the Army’s Public Relations Directorate said, “The Nepal Army, always committed to the safety and security of Nepal and its people, is fully dedicated to protecting lives and property in the current situation.”

The army emphasized the protection of public assets, including historical, cultural, and national heritage, as a shared responsibility. It urged citizens to act with restraint and preserve social harmony and national unity amid the ongoing unrest.
