Top govt officials appeal for calm as protests goes out of control



KATHMANDU: Following widespread protests and damage to public and private property across the country, senior government officials have issued a joint appeal urging citizens to remain calm and avoid further harm.

In a statement, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel, Home Secretary Gokarn Mani Duwadi, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, Inspector General of Police Chandra Kuber Khapung, and Director General of the National Investigation Department Hutaraj Thapa expressed condolences to the families of the deceased.

The officials stated, “In this critical situation, we sincerely appeal to all citizens to exercise restraint to prevent further loss of life and property.”

They also noted that the Prime Minister’s resignation has been accepted and called on all political parties and stakeholders to work toward a swift resolution through dialogue.
