Protesters seen carrying rifles near parliament in New Baneshwor



KATHMANDU: Demonstrators were seen carrying firearms near the New Baneshwor area, heightening tensions around Parliament.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of protesters marching from Tinkune toward Baneshwor were carrying what appeared to be automatic rifles typically used by the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force.

Video and photos from the scene show some youths brandishing the weapons while shouting slogans and leading the crowd.
