10 in critical condition, multiple surgeries underway after Gen-Z protests



KATHMANDU: Among those injured during the recent Gen-Z protests, 10 patients at the Trauma Centre remain in critical condition. Of these, six are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and four in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Hospital authorities reported that 13 patients have undergone major surgery while 10 have had minor procedures. Three additional patients are awaiting surgery.

Six of the injured have been referred to Bir Hospital for further treatment. Out of the 80 protesters admitted to the Trauma Centre, 40 have already been discharged.

Tragically, eight patients succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the centre, highlighting the severe toll of Monday’s protests.
