Gen-Z protests target chief minister offices in Madhesh and Sudurpaschim

KATHMANDU: Amid nationwide demonstrations against Monday’s brutal crackdown on Gen-Z protesters, demonstrators on Tuesday targeted the offices of the chief ministers in Madhesh and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Protesters reportedly entered the Chief Minister’s Office in Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhesh Province, and the Sudurpaschim Chief Minister’s Office in Dhangadhi, throwing stones and confronting authorities.

The intensity of the Gen-Z protests in both provincial capitals escalated Tuesday morning, following the government’s deadly suppression of Monday’s demonstrations, which left 19 protesters dead. Hundreds of injured protesters are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals.
