After expulsion from Nepali Congress, Bishnu Kumar Rai calls it a ‘certificate of honor’

KATHMANDU: Shortly after being expelled from the Nepali Congress, Khotang district president Bishnu Kumar Rai has reacted by calling the decision a “certificate of honor” and a response to his stand against injustice.

The party’s Central Disciplinary Committee expelled Rai for one year on charges of working against the party during the 2079 elections.

In a statement, Rai said that politics is not just about gains, but also about losses. Reflecting on his 35-year-long political journey, he said he had endured many ups and downs.

He accused the party’s central leadership of having committed a serious injustice against the Khotang Congress during the 2079 electoral alliance, and said his resistance to that injustice was principled and necessary.

Rai claimed he proudly accepts the disciplinary action as a recognition of his stand for justice, stating, “I accept this as an honorable certificate from the central committee. I will always stand with the dignified and loyal Congress supporters of Khotehang.”
