Nighttime vehicle movement prohibited on Besisahar–Chame road



LAMJUNG: Vehicle movement on the Besisahar–Chame road connecting Lamjung and Manang districts has been prohibited during nighttime hours starting today.

A meeting of the Lamjung District Security Committee stated that travel on the route is hazardous during the monsoon season. As a result, a ban has been imposed on all vehicle movement from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM daily for one month.

Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Pokharel stated that all non-essential public, private, and government vehicles are prohibited from operating during the restricted hours for safety reasons and to prevent possible disasters.

To enforce the restriction, vehicles are not allowed to leave Koto near Chame for Besisahar after 4:30 PM, and all vehicles must pass the Taldanda Police Post in Naso Rural Municipality–1 by 6:30 PM.

Of the total 65 kilometers of the road, 35 km lies in Lamjung and 30 km in Manang. The road was originally constructed by the Nepali Army Task Force in Besisahar and later handed over to the Road Division Office, Damauli, Tanahun.
