Nepal Rastra Bank updates today’s foreign exchange rates



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank has updated the official foreign exchange rates for today (Wednesday), showing a decline in the value of several major currencies including the US dollar, euro, pound sterling, Kuwaiti dinar, and Bahraini dinar.

However, some currencies, such as the Australian dollar, have appreciated slightly. According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar today is NPR 136.82, while the selling rate is NPR 137.42. This marks a drop from yesterday’s rates of NPR 137.07 (buying) and NPR 137.67 (selling).

Similarly, the euro is being bought at NPR 160.54 and sold at NPR 161.24 today, compared to yesterday’s NPR 160.73 and NPR 161.43. The pound sterling has also weakened slightly, with today’s buying and selling rates at NPR 185.79 and NPR 186.61 respectively, down from NPR 186.58 and NPR 187.40 yesterday.

In contrast, the Australian dollar has gained value, with today’s buying rate at NPR 89.54 and the selling rate at NPR 89.93, up from NPR 89.10 and NPR 89.49.

The Kuwaiti dinar is being bought at NPR 447.87 and sold at NPR 449.83, a decrease from yesterday’s NPR 448.88 and NPR 450.84.

Likewise, the Bahraini dinar has slightly declined, with a buying rate of NPR 362.95 and a selling rate of NPR 364.54 today, compared to NPR 363.61 and NPR 365.20 yesterday.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these exchange rates are subject to change based on market conditions. It also noted that commercial banks may offer slightly different rates, and the most current rates are available on the central bank’s official website.
