House meeting stalled again



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was once again obstructed on Monday, forcing Speaker Devraj Ghimire to suspend the session for 30 minutes shortly after it began.

Although the session started about an hour and a half later than its scheduled time, it was disrupted within minutes due to slogans and protests from opposition parties.

The opposition has been demanding a parliamentary probe into alleged irregularities related to visit visas, and has consistently obstructed proceedings in recent days to press their demand.

Sunday’s House session had also been adjourned after similar protests, with Speaker Ghimire postponing it until 2 pm on Monday. With no consensus yet between the ruling coalition and opposition forces, the legislative impasse continues to deepen.
