Indian Ambassador meets PM Oli, thanks for support in action against terrorism



KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to discuss the recent developments between India and Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Ambassador Srivastava briefed Prime Minister Oli on the tensions arising from the attack.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the ambassador clarified that the claims about India retaliating at the site of the attack with a jet strike were false.

Ambassador Srivastava also expressed gratitude to the Nepal government for its statement issued on Thursday, condemning the terrorist attack.

Prime Minister Oli, during the meeting, condemned the attack in line with Nepal’s firm stance against all forms of terrorism and reaffirmed that Nepal supports world peace. He also clarified that Nepal will not permit any conflicting power to use its territory against neighboring countries.
