Speaker urges govt to address security of Nepali citizens amid India-Pakistan tensions



KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has called on the government to take necessary measures in light of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, ensuring the security of Nepali citizens residing in both countries and addressing potential issues that may arise.

Speaker Ghimire raised the matter during today’s House of Representatives meeting, urging the government to remain vigilant and prepare for any consequences that may affect Nepal due to the ongoing conflict.

The parliamentarians echoed Ghimire’s concerns, emphasizing the need for the government to assess and address the potential impact of the situation on Nepal, and to initiate necessary preparations.

In addition, Speaker Ghimire presented a letter from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the allocation of an additional portfolio.
