NC President Deuba brushes off rumors of coalition instability

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has dismissed speculation about instability in the ruling coalition, asserting that the government is functioning smoothly.

During a meeting of Nepali Congress office bearers held at his private residence in Budhanilkantha on Friday, Deuba addressed recent rumors suggesting internal discord within the ruling alliance.

He assured party leaders that the coalition remains intact and there are no serious issues threatening its stability.

“There are rumors circulating outside that the government is facing problems,” said one office bearer who attended the meeting. “However, the party President clearly stated that no such problem exists.”

Deuba’s statement comes amid rising speculation in political circles and media reports about growing tensions between coalition partners over power-sharing arrangements and governance issues.

His remarks appear to be an effort to maintain unity within the party and reassure the public about the government’s continuity.

According to NC insiders, Deuba urged leaders to stay focused on the party’s agenda and upcoming political challenges, rather than being distracted by speculation and rumor-mongering.
