CIAA files case against one for allegedly bribing its employee



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against Dhruva Prasad Sapkota, the Chief Administrative Officer of Kispang Rural Municipality, Nuwakot, for allegedly bribing a CIAA employee.

Sapkota is accused of offering a bribe of Rs 100,000 to an investigation officer during an inquiry into the municipality’s machinery purchase by the CIAA’s Kanchanpur office.

He was arrested by the Commission while trying to influence the investigation under the pretense of submitting related documents to avoid further action on the case.

The CIAA has demanded imprisonment, a fine of Rs 100,000, and asset confiscation in the case filed before the Special Court.
