Two arrested for bribery in Nawalparasi



NAWALPARASI: Suresh Gupta, an assistant accountant at Rajnarayan Secondary School in Palhinandan Rural Municipality, Ward No. 5, and Surendra Prasad Kahar, a member of the school’s management committee, were arrested on Wednesday for accepting a bribe.

The duo was accused of demanding a bribe from a service user in exchange for processing the final payment for building construction work once it was completed.

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in Butwal arrested Gupta and Kahar while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 65,000 from the service user.

According to CIAA spokesperson Narahari Ghimire, further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
