PM Sushila Karki to meet Durga Prasai today at Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki and businessman-turned-political activist Durga Prasai are scheduled to hold talks today, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The meeting has been set for 3 PM at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. The PM’s Secretariat confirmed that the schedule was arranged following earlier correspondence from Adarsha Kumar Shrestha, the Prime Minister’s chief personal secretary, who had formally invited Prasai for talks today.

Prasai had earlier met Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal at Singha Durbar on November 28, during which he submitted a 27-point demand, including his call to scrap the existing political system. In that meeting, Prasai had also requested arrangements to present his views directly to the Prime Minister.

Responding to that request, the Prime Minister’s Press Coordinator Ram Rawal said the government allocated the 3 PM slot today for the dialogue.

The negotiations between the government and Prasai have so far been facilitated by advocates Binodmani Bhattarai and Lavan Nyaupane.
