Nepal suffer second consecutive defeat in Hong Kong Sixes



KATHMANDU: Nepal faced their second straight defeat in the ongoing Hong Kong Sixes Cricket Tournament, losing to South Africa by four wickets on Thursday.

Chasing a 59-run target set by Nepal, South Africa reached the mark in just 3.4 overs, losing only two wickets. Blake Simpson top-scored for South Africa with an unbeaten 30 runs.

For Nepal, Lokesh Bam took two wickets.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being sent to bat first, Nepal were bowled out for 58 runs in 3.3 overs. Rashid Khan was Nepal’s top scorer with 16 runs, while Lokesh Bam and Adil Alam contributed 14 and 13 runs respectively.

Abdullah Bayoumi, Blake Simpson, and Jorick van Zyl each claimed two wickets for South Africa. With this result, Nepal have suffered back-to-back defeats in the tournament, having lost their opening match to Afghanistan earlier.
