Two killed in SUV accident in Lamjung



LAMJUNG: Two people have died in an SUV accident in Lamjung district on Thursday night.

According to the District Police Office, Lamjung, the Bolero jeep (Ba 8 Cha 3731) carrying cement for the Hidikhola Hydropower project from Khudi of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality–3 to Naiche of the same municipality met with an accident.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Binod Khadka and 25-year-old Paras Khadka, both residents of Melung–4, Dolakha, police said.

District Police Office Spokesperson DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Chhetri informed that the jeep lost control and fell about 800 meters off the road. Both victims were rescued in critical condition but died while undergoing treatment at Province Hospital, Besisahar.

Police said that another passenger, 20-year-old Umesh Limbu of Sidingwa Rural Municipality–4, Taplejung, survived the incident unharmed.
