‘Gen-Z Clinic’ operational at Koshi Hospital

BIRATNAGAR: The Gen-Z Clinic has officially come into operation at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar, with the goal of providing prompt medical services to individuals injured during the Genji protests that took place on September 8 and 9.

According to Dr. Runa Jha, Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, the clinic was established under the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Home Affairs and in line with directives from the Ministry of Health and Population.

She stated that the clinic operates as a coordinated system within the hospital, designed to deliver swift and efficient treatment to those affected by the protests. Individuals who have received official identity cards in connection with the Gen-Z movement will be eligible for services at the clinic upon visiting the hospital.

To oversee the clinic’s operations, the hospital has formed a five-member committee. It is coordinated by Dr. Mahendra Prasad Mahato, Head of the Orthopedic Department, with Dr. Sunil Babu Khanal, Head of the Medicine Department; Dr. Kshitij Giri, Medical Officer from the Surgical Department; Nabita Sharma, OPD In-Charge; and Kameshwor Parihasta, SIH Officer and contact person, serving as member secretaries.

The hospital stated that the committee will coordinate, manage, and ensure the necessary facilities are in place for the speedy treatment of incoming patients. It will also work closely with various departments to streamline treatment procedures and ensure efficient service delivery.

Dr. Jha noted, “This is a coordinated system integrated into our regular hospital services, aimed at delivering timely and dignified care to those injured in the Gen-Z Movement.”

Similar arrangements are being implemented in major hospitals across the country following instructions from the Ministry of Health.
