Gen-Z protest in Itahari: Death toll rises to 2



KATHMANDU: Two people have died in Sunsari during a Gen-Z protest, officials say.

The incident occurred after protesters set fire to the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City office, prompting police to open fire amid rising tensions. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed, according to Prakash Parajuli, information officer at the Sunsari District Police Office.

Four others injured in the protest are receiving treatment at Birat Teaching Hospital in Biratnagar.

The arson at the Sub-Metropolitan office remains uncontrolled as authorities continue efforts to bring the situation under control.
