Protesters set fire to Itahari Sub-Metropolitan Office building

KATHMANDU: Demonstrators in Sunsari have set fire to the Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City Office amid ongoing Gen-Z protests against the government.

The office building suffered extensive damage, with protesters bringing official documents, furniture, and other materials outside before burning them.

As protests escalated, the Sunsari District Administration imposed a curfew in Itahari. Earlier in the day, Gen-Z demonstrators had surrounded the city’s main intersection from 11 a.m. before marching toward the municipal office, where the protest turned violent.
