At least five killed in clashes during Gen-Z protest in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: At least five people have been killed after police opened fire during violent clashes outside the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, according to hospital officials.

The fatalities occurred as protesters attempted to enter the Parliament premises, prompting police to fire live rounds and tear gas.

Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi, Director of Civil Service Hospital, confirmed that two protesters brought for treatment had died. At least three more deaths were reported at the National Trauma Center.

Several others remain hospitalized with injuries from tear gas and gunfire.
