KATHMANDU: Tension flared in New Baneshwor today as Gen-Z protesters clashed with police after attempting to breach the restricted zone.
The youths, who had marched in a rally from Maitighar Mandala, tried to push through security barriers, prompting police to respond with baton charges. The confrontation led to brief scuffles and chaos in the area.
Authorities have deployed additional security personnel in the Baneshwor area, a politically sensitive zone near Parliament, to prevent further escalation. No immediate reports of injuries were available at the time of filing this story.
