After Kathmandu, Gen-Z launch protests in Pokhara

KATHMANDU: Young people from Generation Z took to the streets in Pokhara staging demonstrations against rampant corruption and nepotism.

In Pokhara, Gen-Z youths gathered at the Pokhara Assembly Hall before marching towards Chipledhunga. Carrying placards with slogans such as “Who will save our country?”, “Corruption outweighs investment,” and “Give back my money,” the protesters demanded accountability and an end to misuse of public resources.

Meanwhile, in Kathmandu, hundreds of youths assembled at Maitighar Mandala from 9 a.m., chanting slogans against the government and its leadership. The demonstrations were organized through social media campaigns over the past few days.

The protesters said they were frustrated with systemic corruption, lack of transparency, and disregard for young voices in governance. Demonstrations are expected to continue in other cities as well.
