Beni–Jomsom road blocked by landslide

JOMSOM: The Beni–Jomsom road, which connects the northern region of Myagdi to the popular tourist district of Mustang, has been blocked due to a landslide.

According to Vishal Darji, Assistant Inspector of Police at the District Police Office, the road has been obstructed since early Friday morning by a landslide at Baisari, Raghu Ganga Rural Municipality-2 in Myagdi. Efforts to clear the road are underway, but continuous landslides are hampering progress.

The blockage has disrupted direct transportation between Mustang and the Annapurna Rural Municipality in Myagdi. Due to adverse weather conditions, the Pokhara–Jomsom air service has also been suspended.

This has affected both local residents and tourists traveling to and from Mustang.
