Landslide blocks Prithvi Highway in Dhading

KATHMANDU: A landslide in Jarekhet, Galchi Rural Municipality-6, has blocked the Prithvi Highway since Friday morning, halting traffic in both directions.

According to Dhading’s Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire, the landslide, which also brought down trees, has made the road impassable. Security personnel with equipment have been deployed to clear the debris.

Vehicles traveling from Kathmandu toward Muglin have been stopped at Adamghat, while those heading to the capital from the west are stranded in Gajuri.

Authorities have urged drivers and passengers to remain cautious, as continuous rainfall has heightened the risk of further landslides along several sections of the highway.
