Today’s foreign currency exchange rates



KATHMANDU: The value of some foreign currencies, including the US dollar and Bahraini dinar, has declined on Friday—continuing a downward trend observed yesterday.

In contrast, the value of other currencies such as the Australian dollar, euro, pound sterling, and Kuwaiti dinar has increased.

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate of 1 US dollar today is Rs 140.03, and the selling rate is Rs 140.63. Yesterday, the rates were Rs 140.08 (buying) and Rs 140.68 (selling).

The euro has strengthened today, with the buying rate at Rs 163.20 and the selling rate at Rs 163.90, up from Rs 162.66 and Rs 163.36 respectively yesterday.

Similarly, 1 pound sterling is trading at a buying rate of Rs 187.77 and a selling rate of Rs 188.58, compared to yesterday’s rates of Rs 186.71 and Rs 187.51.

The Australian dollar has also seen an uptick, with today’s buying rate at Rs 91.33 and selling rate at Rs 91.72. Yesterday, the buying rate was Rs 91.14 and the selling rate was Rs 91.53.

The Kuwaiti dinar is trading slightly higher as well, with a buying rate of Rs 458.35 and selling rate of Rs 460.31, up from Rs 458.29 and Rs 460.25 yesterday.

Conversely, the Bahraini dinar has slightly weakened. Its current buying rate is Rs 371.42 and selling rate is Rs 373.01, compared to Rs 371.56 and Rs 373.15 yesterday.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these rates are subject to revision at any time as necessary. The central bank also noted that commercial banks may set different exchange rates, and the latest rates can be accessed on the bank’s official website.
