Bus accident in Tulsipur kills two, injures 34



DANG: Two people died and 34 others were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Bakhariya, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City–13, on Sunday.

According to Inspector Surya Bahadur Rana of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, the deceased have been identified as Narayan Bhandari (65) and Shanta Khadka Chaudhary (25), both from Dangisharan Rural Municipality–2.

The accident occurred when a passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 4009) heading to Tulsipur from Goltakuri collided with an empty school bus (Ra 1 Kha 870) from Gyanjyoti Boarding School, which was heading toward Bakhariya from Tulsipur.

Inspector Rana said four of the injured are in serious condition, 15 sustained moderate injuries, and the rest suffered minor injuries. All injured are undergoing treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur.

Most of the passengers were from the same village, police said.

Following the accident, teams led by Sub-Inspector Pareshwar Dangi from Damargaun and Inspector Rana from Tulsipur were deployed to the site. Rescue efforts were carried out immediately, and both drivers have been taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation.

The passenger bus overturned about five meters off the road after the collision.
