PM Oli alleges conspiracy against UML-NC power-sharing deal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has accused political opponents of attempting to undermine the coalition between the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress (NC).

Speaking at the 24th National Convention of ANNFSU—the UML’s student wing—in Kathmandu on Sunday, Oli said the UML currently leads the government but acknowledged that the leadership is temporary.

He stated that, according to the agreement between the two major parties, power will be handed over to the Nepali Congress in 13 months.

“Today, we are leading the government. We won’t be in leadership forever,” Oli said. “After 13 months, we will transfer leadership to the Nepali Congress again, as per our understanding.”

Highlighting the party’s strategic plan, Oli said Mission 2084 BS (2027) aims to establish the CPN-UML as a decisive national force.

“Mission 084 is not some vague, confusing slogan. It is our plan to strengthen this patriotic force into a decisive national force,” he declared.

He also criticized opposition groups for allegedly trying to derail the UML–Congress partnership. “Our opponents are manipulating narratives, branding the Congress as aligned with reactionary forces. They claim they’ll eliminate the Congress and bring a majority, but their games won’t succeed,” Oli asserted.
