Two killed, 34 injured in bus accident in Tulsipur



DANG: Two people were killed and 34 others injured in a bus collision that occurred in Bakhariya, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-13.

The deceased have been identified as 65-year-old Narayan Bhandari and 25-year-old Shanta Khadka Chaudhary, both residents of Dangisharan Rural Municipality-2, according to Police Inspector Surya Bahadur Rana of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur.

The accident took place when a passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 4009) en route from Goltakuri to Tulsipur along the Tulsipur-Amaliya road section collided with an empty school bus (Ra 1 Ka 870) belonging to Gyanjyoti Boarding School, which was heading toward Bakhariya from Tulsipur.

Inspector Rana reported that four of the injured are in serious condition, 15 sustained moderate injuries, and the rest suffered minor wounds.

All injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur, and most of the passengers are believed to be from the same village.

Following the incident, a three-member team led by Deputy Inspector of Police Pareshwar Dangi from the Area Police Office, Damargaun, and a 12-member team led by Inspector Rana from the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, were dispatched for rescue operations.

According to the police, the passenger bus veered about five meters off the road and overturned after the collision. The drivers of both vehicles have been taken into custody, and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
