Three-vehicle collision in Tinkune kills one, injures three



KATHMANDU: A young woman lost her life and three others were injured in a three-vehicle collision in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

According to police, 23-year-old Nagina Tamang of Nuwakot, who was riding a motorcycle, died after a bus (Ba 3 Kha 7062) traveling from Pepsi Cola to Ratna Park struck a Maruti van and then hit her motorcycle.

Tamang succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Trauma Center, said Apil Raj Bohara, spokesperson for the District Police Range.

The injured include motorcycle rider Padam Thapa Magar, 27, of Doramba, Ramechhap; van driver Ratna Bahadur Sarki, 35, of Mandandeupur, Kavrepalanchok; and Menuka Budhathoki, 24, of Gaurishankar, Dolakha, a passenger on the bus.

Thapa Magar is receiving treatment at the Trauma Center, while Sarki and Budhathoki are being treated at Kantipur Hospital.

The accident involved a bus (Ba 3 Kha 7062), a van (Ba.Pr.01-026Ch 2927), and a motorcycle (Ba.Pr.02-3847). Police said the bus first collided with the van, which in turn struck the motorcycle.

The bus driver, Ram Kumar Khadka, along with the van and motorcycle, has been taken into custody for investigation.
