KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is holding its mass rally in Balkhu, Kathmandu today.

The party had initially planned to hold the event at Bhrikutimandap but was forced to shift the venue after the administration denied permission, citing security concerns.

RPP had sought approval to organize the Bagmati Province-level demonstration and general meeting at Bhrikutimandap on April 8, but authorities recommended Balkhu or Sifal as alternative venues.

RPP Spokesperson Mohan Kumar Shrestha confirmed the venue change and encouraged party members and supporters to proceed with discipline and strategy.

“The demonstration and general meeting scheduled for today will be held in Balkhu after the administration denied permission for Bhrikutimandap,” Shrestha said. “The government’s position indicates that our movement is gaining momentum. Let us advance it gradually and in an organized manner.”
